Terms of Service

By using WetMeter (the "Service") you agree to the following terms. The Service is provided free of charge, as-is, by an individual developer ("we").
1. The Service
WetMeter is a free online tool for planning water routes (kayak, canoe, SUP). It runs entirely in your web browser and does not require registration.
2. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to plan routes that violate local laws, navigation rules, or protected-area regulations. You are responsible for verifying that any put-in, take-out or camp location is legal and safe.
3. No warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We make no warranty that the map, routing or distance calculation is accurate, complete or suitable for any particular purpose. Always carry a paper map, a compass and a backup navigation device on the water.
4. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damage, injury, loss of equipment or loss of data resulting from use of the Service.
5. Third-party services
The Service relies on OpenStreetMap tiles, brouter routing, ip-api.com for country lookup and Telegram for notifications. We are not responsible for the availability or accuracy of these third parties.
6. Telegram bot
The bot stores your chat_id only to deliver export notifications. You can delete it at any time with /stop. We never share it with third parties.
7. Intellectual property
The site code, design and copy are © WetMeter. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, used under ODbL.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. If you are an EEA resident, mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence also apply. If you are a California resident, CCPA rights also apply.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. The "last updated" date at the top of the page will reflect the change. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the new terms.
